Krystal Growth Partners (“Krystal”) is pleased to announce that it has completed the acquisition of Huer Foods Inc. (“Huer” or the “Company”), a leading packager and distributor of soft & chewy candy, from the CEO and owner, Ryan Storey.
Originally founded in 1986 and based in Langley, BC, Huer’s products are sold in national, regional, and independent retailers throughout Canada. Under Ryan’s ownership and leadership as CEO since 2010, the business has experienced significant growth and developed nationally recognized brands. “I’m proud of what we have accomplished over the last 12 years and look forward to seeing the company continue to do well under new leadership,” said Ryan.
To continue the company’s growth trajectory, Krystal has partnered with John Frostad, an entrepreneur and senior executive with over 40 years of experience in the private label and branded packaged food industry throughout North America. Krystal has previously partnered with John on Snack Alliance, a North American snack food manufacturer which was successfully exited in 2010. “I am excited to join Krystal and the Huer team to expand and grow the company. Chewy candy is a rapidly expanding segment in confection and Huer is uniquely positioned to capitalize on that growth,” said John.
